Merchandising Managers are responsible to manage the suppliers and develop buying strategy in a competitive manner in order to enhance the overall profitability. Jobholders must ensure quality suppliers throughout the operation. They must negotiate best purchasing terms including rebate and promotions. They have to assist the Marketing and Sourcing Manager, Store Managers, and key department Managers by effectively communicating and co-ordinating the buying process.
Should have Tertiary Education or Graduate
Minimum of 10 years working experience in a major retail store at a senior management level or Department Manager.
Should have an exposure to negotiating promotional deals for various stores and distribution centers. Must have participated supplier negotiation and fully aware of doing competitors activity.
